too many anonymous votes here
I think that this will distort the discussion of new features here. If people dont joint the discussion in a positive way and even vote anonymously I cant see how to take their voices serious. If 95% of the votes for a feature are anonymous it would be very hard for me as a developer to count this votes in. We are not running political elections here where anonimity is a "must-have"-feature.

What about an option to rank suggestions with and without anon?

well when i signed up I couldn't find the option in the account settings.

@addiktion: You are mistaken. ( http://uservoice.uservoice.com/pages/general/suggestions/7531 ) UserVoice has acknowledged the problem and provided admins these options to disable or hide anonymous votes.

It's uservoice that doesn't allow non-anonymous voting at the moment. Just something to keep in mind that it's not necessarily todoists intentions for spam bots to ruin the voting system.

the page is completely spammed by anonymous votes! several suggestions are 90% powered by anonymous votes.
come on people, vote on this, do not vote anonymously, show by your and showing your face that this is important for you, take out some 3 points from something else and block here!

anon is bad.
Let's make the point - Everyone inflate just this suggestion.
Let's see how high we can drive those numbers.
Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

FWIW I wanted to mention that all admins have the ability to "hide" the anonymous votes on all ideas in addition to the ability to suspend any further anonymous votes.

Is this is why he made Todoist in the first place, to help himself. If this is true than it could be especially difficult to do this job. But than again...he's so gifted he could pull it off if the sets his mind to it. So, I'd like say: GO AMIR GO!!!!!!!

This conversation should be an indication to pull the plug, to stop inquiring, to start working. I think it's crystal clear to Amir what he should or could do by now.
He just finished working on AJS 4.5 so now he could make the improvements that are needed. But perhaps Amir has trouble with starting or completing this task?

@otomo: Indeed, it does.
But as Mark said, it also shows up for all that it can be easily done to push some features up, and while anonymous voting can be turned off and this thread deleted (or marked as "completed feature"), I don't think that the anonymous votes will be removed from all suggestions, thus rendering the current voting useless.

@Divino : which isnt bad at all, because it proves my point that some idiot with too much spare time can turn this whole constructive discussion of a dedicated userbase into a chaotic mess.

Oh, and my comment about Amir was just to point that he doesn't seem to be participating much here, and therefore is not be able to turn anonymous voting off. Which is a shame because now we have this thread polluting the list as number #1 item.

I'm sorry, but you are very wrong in your idea, cause I'm not the one doing this.
Not that there is any way to prove this, of course. But I'm not the kind of idiot that would enfatically say this is wrong and anti-productive, and then do the very same thing just to push my opinion forward. That wouldn't be very clever.
Feel free to trust whoever you want.

True, but you're just abusing the system by giving it 400 votes to prove a point. If we want Amir to listen to us, distorting the voting system (and thus showing everyone else how its done) isn't going to help.

Jeez... I see updates mainly from the RSS feed, didn't notice that.
If that doesn't make the point here, I don't know what can. Problem is, Amir seems kinda MIA these days.

How ironic. This suggestion makes it to the #1 spot on the power of anonymous votes.

Like this feature...
http://todoist.uservoice.com/pages/general/suggestions/6060
... which all comments suggest people agree is not needed, but still is second most voted based on more than three hundred anonymous votes.

I liked the idea of having (very) limited votes here on Uservoice, because it makes people think more about the value of each feature. You cannot spent votes on each off-track proposal, or you won't be able to vote for the ones you really need.
Anonymous voting removes that limitation, and makes the "order by most votes" almost useless.

@chris: while you do have a point, we also know for a fact that it only takes about 20 seconds to register on this site, it's probably the easiest registration I have ever seen.
If someone cannot take the time to do that, how can we believe they are actually taking time to read and think about the necessity and value of the features proposed here, and weighting what's more important?

I second the idea of disabling anonymous votes.
However, I can understand that requiring users to register could deter a lot of normal users (not spammers or with ill intent) from bothering to contribute.
