Has there been any progress on this? I don't mean to be a pain but you accepted it 5 months ago so I was just wondering when you're thinking of releasing it :) I'm really looking forward to it.. I started using Todoist when it first launched but now I'm a very heavy user so it matters a lot more. I'd love some more regular feedback about what you're up to.

Kath2226, you are so right, dont build a crappy plugin like RTM has. It does not truly show if you have a scheduled task - on your calendar (yes those do exist).

I would love this, but please don't have a check box on EVERY SINGLE DAY like RTM has. I hate that and that's why I don't use RTM! It clutters up the calendar. Perhaps only an icon for days that actually have tasks. Or make it optional!

I would also say no to the plug in and to try to plug tasks onto the calendar itself (mix and matched with appointments). I use goosync for now and maybe trying to tag tasks to be created as events tagged could work for now while google works out APIs and whatnot for their hopefully soon to come web based tasks app

it would (will) be great ;)
A linkage with gCal will also give the ability to synch with Thunderbird/Lightning

If this is a stupid question, please forgive me, but I don't use iCal or Google Calendar -- Using iCal support, could I synchronize with my Plaxo account? I use Plaxo to synchronize Blackberry, my Outlook account at work, and my Thunderbird/Lightning account at home. If the answer is yes, it would make many of the other requests I voted for redundant.

The main reason I'd like this is to sync with my PDA.. if you can do this without this middle-man, I'd love it :)

Have worked with many "project planners" over the years, they get far too complex and more of a burden than a help.

amix, you should make this a premium feature because once you import events into google calendar you can get that to send email / sms alerts.

brownphotographic makes sense. If an ics subscription would work for Google Calendar *and* iCal (plus other calendar software), why not go that route?

@amix: great to hear Calendar and iCal are on the pipe. You might want to check the "iCal Integration" suggestion here on Uservoice as Planned too, just to make things clear.
Thanks a lot for opening this channel with us. ;)

If you are going down the google calendar route (as opposed to a generic ics subscription) it would be a nice feature if we could configure todoist to map to existing google calendars. For example in my todoist I have three main projects: Personal, Photography, Work and in Google Calendar I have a calendar for each of those. It would be good to map projects to existing calendars.

Planned, cool.

I agree - an iCal feed would be much better than a plugin. I'm not sure I understand the problems mentioned before - I think all this would need is the due date of the task as the date that the event would come up on the calendar. But I'm not sure really.

I thinks iCal integration is better (and simpler) then this, since it would be usable by more calendar software and websites (therefore better use of developer time), and would keep actual task management on Todoist, instead of having the same functions on both websites.
I tried RTM with Calendar, and thought it just made it more complex to manage my tasks.

No to a plugin (for example Firefox plugin). Just use an ics file that can be stored on the todoist server (or icalx.com) and then subscribed to in google calendar, ical or outlook etc. Might have to set a default length to tasks though in todoist to allow this to work (or possibly include a new feature for end to do times, but that may make todoist too complex).

This could best implemented as a simple calendar feed with the due dates for tasks in it. I don't support adding any other time metadata to tasks... what we have now works.

In this case there would be sense in adding start/end date and time for a task
